The conflict in Eastern Congo is an ongoing armed conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo that fosters extreme poverty and political instability. Livelihoods are shattered and communities are torn apart as innocent people flee the violence, living as refugees, and militias recruit child soldiers and use sexual violence as a weapon of war.

That’s where Action Kivu comes in

Led by Congolese educator and community builder Amani Mataboro, we are dedicated to repairing the harm done by years of violence and neglect in this region. We focus on the women and children who are the most at risk and whose wellbeing will make the biggest impact in their community. Our mission focuses on four complementary initiatives:

ENTREPRENEUR TRAININGProviding a lifeline to women by teaching literacy, job skills, and self-sufficiency to provide for themselves and their families.
